An official remix for De De Pyaar De song Tu Mila To Haina, composed by Amaal Mallik, penned by Kunaal Vermaa and sung by Arijit Singh, dropped today, courtesy Zaiyd Patni aka Zeek, who is Amaal’s music assistant on all of his projects. This would be his first official remix of a Bollywood song.

Zeek’s last remix was Natania’s Yellow Lights and VYRL’s Feel The Vibe was his last independent single as music producer.

We reached out to Zaiyd to ask about the making of the remix, he said he was “grateful” for the “opportunity to work with Amaal Mallik”. He adds, “I’ve always wanted to remix one of his songs because they are so melancholic and soul-driven, so perfectly crafted with every detail of sound It’s truly a blessing to watch him work. When we were working on the original song Tu Mila To Haina, I had no idea that I’d ever be remixing this one.”

Taking us through the process of how the remix came to be, he says, “One random day, I opened my computer and stumbled upon Arijit’s voice on Tu Mila To Haina and ended up playing the piano portion you hear in the intro. That’s where this remix was born. Over years of really exploring sounds, few instruments really touched my heart… like a cello or a sarangi. I come from the DJing world, so I always wanted to blend the electronic world with our Indian sounds and somehow keep it fresh to the listener’s ears. I knew that I didn’t wanna change the soul that Amaal had created, hence I choose a very minimal palette of sounds.”

When asked for the reason behind this beautiful song’s success, he humbly maintains, “Arijit’s voice and Amaal’s melody is what truly makes this song what it is.”
