The first episode of the eighth season of Game Of Thrones finally reveals what happened to Ed Sheeran’s character after his brief cameo on the seventh season.

If you remember, Ed played a Lannister soldier in the first episode of Season 7 in 2017 where he sang a song and had a conversation with Arya Stark.

Now, an entire season later, on the eighth season’s first episode, a group of serving girls speculate about the fate of the Lannister troops (presumably from that episode) and one recalls how a ginger-haired soldier named Eddie had his face burnt off in the attack by Daenerys’s dragon.

But that fate was less cruel than the criticism he drew for his performance, which also led him to deleting his Twitter account.

At the time, one unhappy Game Of Thrones fan wrote: “That Ed Sheeran cameo on #GameOfThrones was remarkably awful. Could he have been roasted by a dragon at least?”

Looks like someone got their wish granted.
