The Yellow Diary is the indie band Sukriti Kakar loves!

Sukriti Kakar, one half of the singing twins (Prakriti Kakar being the other) had a revelation to make on her Instagram stories. In the midst of promotions for her new single with her sibling, she found time to share a screenshot of a band she’s OBSESSED with: The Yellow Diary.

The Yellow Diary, in case you didn’t know, is a Mumbai-based alt rock band that has made a name for itself in the indie music scene in less than half a decade. Now signed with Sony Music, this alternative rock outfit has released six songs over two EPs in addition to performing hundreds of live shows across the country. Their recent EP Izafa has managed to grab eyeballs like no other, and we have proof!

The band members are —Himonshu Parikh (music production, keyboard, backing vocals), Rajan Batra (vocals, songwriting), Vaibhav Pani (guitar), Sahil Shah (drums) and Stuart DaCosta (bass).
A lot of us have personal diaries at some point in life, where we made notes of our crushes, random thoughts, special memories etc , those handwritten notes and personal thoughts are the inspiration for The Yellow Diary. The members of the band have a great chemistry and totally admire each other’s rhythmic sensibilities. Being multi-lingual, the band’s lyrics are personal and strike the chord with listeners beautifully.
The Yellow Diary is the band that we all need to currently look out for, especially for all those who are Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s fans. Their second EP Izafa has a re-creation of his popular ‘Tere Jeya Hor Disda’ among other originals such as ‘Buniyaad’ or ‘Dheere Se’.
Thank us later!
