The latest Gully Boy poster has Divine written all over it

Well, somewhat! The lyrics to Sony Music India’s ‘Mere Gully Mein’ feature on the poster of the Ranveer Singh-starrer
As posters go, the latest Gully Boy poster is threadbare, featuring a close-up of a hoodie-wearing Ranveer Singh against the backdrop of Mumbai’s slums. The story itself is about Mumbai’s underground rap scene and the big names that emerged from the streets.
If you’re familiar with Divine’s (Vivian Fernandes’s) work, you’re aware that the lines you read on the poster are from his song featuring Naezy ‘Mere Gully Mein‘ released via Sony Music. It’s one of his earliest hits.
From what we know, Ranveer’s character is a composite of several characters (as opposed to the theory that it is entirely based on Divine’s life), but this poster kinda tips the scales in favour of the latter theory.
Also, there’s a love interest in the story. Because, Bollywood. So there’s Alia Bhatt in the story and what role she plays, is unclear at this point except that we’re sure it’s gonna be a good reveal.
Karsh Kale, Salvage Audio Collective and Ankit Tewari share music credits for the film’s score. At this point, we know that Ishq Bector has a song in the film.
