Sanam Band: ‘We fight… with swords, guns and keys’
Bands disagree, squabble and fall out, but this one — together for five years now — insist that the secret to their longevity is that they ‘discuss’, not fight

On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, Sanam Band released their new Punjabi single ‘Sanam Mennu’ on MTV Beats. It’s a #SanamOriginal by the four-member Indian pop-rock band.

The band – Sanam PuriSamar PuriVenkat Subramaniyam and Keshav Dhanraj – is known for their cover versions (called #SanamRenditions) and originals (#SanamOriginals) that revolve around love.

We asked them quite a few questions — Doesn’t Sanam miss playback singing for Bollywood? What are their thoughts about ‘competition’ from fellow YouTuber BB Ki Vines (aka Bhuvan Bam) who recently came out with a single? Why they haven’t featured on an A.R. Rahman OST yet? Do they fight at all (Can’t be this smiley and sweet to each other all the time, right?)And do they see their numbers dipping with #Bollywood going heavy on remixes/covers? And of course, their fav #SanamOriginal?

Under the umbrella of MTV Beats Spotlight, they will be launching a series of specially curated shows – Dil Beats with Sanam Band and Love Shots through February.

#DilBeats with Sanam Band will premiere on MTV Beats February 14 and will air every Wednesday at 10 am with repeats at 4 pm and 8 pm.
