Sachet-Parampara’s songs dominate Spotify India’s Most Streamed list

Spotify completed six months in India recently and the global streaming platform put out a lot of data about the kind of songs, artists and trends observed in that time. One thing that stood out was the fact that all of summer, the Kabir Singh soundtrack dominated.
Sachet-Parampara were clear winners as both Bekhayali versions (at #3 and #10) made it to the Most Streamed Songs In India list (from June 1-August 20, 2019). Mere Sohneya, another composition of theirs, features in the list at #5.
We reached out to the composer duo for their reaction. They said, “It’s a really different, out-of-the-world feeling. In fact, Bekhayali got viral and many covers got made even before the release of the song. The response has been great and overwhelming for us.”
They gratefully acknowledged “each and every listener for making it to the Top3 Songs on Spotify and with over 160 mn views on YouTube.”
They added, “Our biggest thanks go to Sandeep (Vanga) Sir, Bhushan (Kumar) Sir, Murad (Khetani) Sir, Ashwin (Varde) Sir and to Shahid (Kapoor) Sir and Kiara (Advani) for taking it to that massive next level. Irshad Kamil ji’s thoughts made it even more beautiful. The best part was that we all worked as a team and it turned out as we imagined.”
