‘Haaye Oye’ to be his first release
You might know Qaran as the name behind Tareefan and Kishmish, but it is his next, Haaye Oye, the first of his four non-film singles to exclusively release via music giant Sony Music, that will make you sit up and take notice of the artist, if you haven’t already (and if you haven’t, you’re missing out).
The artist, a producer, programmer, composer, rapper and DJ is what one might describe as an ‘Urban Beat Master’, with his unique sound distinguishing him from the crowd.
The single, slated for a February-end release, sees him reunite with Kishmish singer Ash King. From what we know, it’s a bright, fun song about how falling in love changes everything overnight.
Of his latest association, Qaran says, “Working with Sony Music was an obvious choice for me. They’ve been at the forefront of the Indian pop movement since the 90s and continue to honour this legacy by promoting artists that are pushing the boundaries of Indian music. I’m looking forward to releasing my next four non-film singles with them and am confident that together we will redefine the identity of Indian music globally.”
Rohan Jha, Head of Pop, Sony Music India, adds, “Qaran is today’s most prolific composer and music producer, with a distinct sonic identity. His global exposure, combined with his Indian roots, gives his music a unique combination of an Indian soul and an urban/international production. His next releases are set to be blockbusters, and will take his brand of urban music to a wider audience base. We are really excited to have him on board in our journey to take non-film music to new heights.”
If his latest releases are any indication of his potential, you can be sure that Haaye Oye will be a hit, too.>
