Priyanka Chopra is one of Variety500’s most influential business leaders
By Bryan Durham - July 27, 2018
Priyanka Chopra is the only actress and one of only two female producers (the other being Ekta Kapoor) and 12 Indians from Bollywood to feature in Variety500, Variety magazine’s “index of the 500 most influential business leaders shaping the global $2 trillion entertainment industry.”
That Priyanka Chopra has also been recognised as an artist, along with being an actress and producer, makes the news even sweeter. This means that her singing career has been recognised by the prestigious magazine.
In fact, an attached write-up even states: “Besides her acting, Chopra also takes time to sing and has released three singles — “In My City,” which aired during NFL games; “Exotic,” with Pitbull; and “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” a cover of Bonnie Raitt’s song. But she has signed a contract with DesiHits for a record to be released by Interscope Records in North America and Island Records in the rest of the world.”
The news that she admits (on social media) made her the happiest is the mention of her production company, Purple Pebble Pictures.
Updated annually, the Variety500 reflects the accomplishments of its members over the previous 12 months. They were selected by the Variety editorial board, which conducted extensive research for its selections.>
