Prakriti Kakar covers Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé’s Perfect (Duet) with a friend

Self-admittedly, it’s a rare instance for young Bollywood singer Prakriti Kakar to sing a song whose title doesn’t include a repeated word. And almost as rare for her to do a cover version of an English song (she last did a cover mashup three years back). of one of last year’s (however, it released late-2017) biggest tracks in pop music: Perfect (Duet) by Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé. But she has and the version where she features alongside singer-music director Koustuv Ghosh is out.
We reached out to the songstress to know why she decided to get on board this song. Here’s what she told us, “So, Perfect is one of my favoritest songs of 2017 and I always wanted to cover it, but only to do it little differently”
Every second YouTuber does cover versions, so what’s different about this one? She replied, “So, if you have heard it, you will know we have changed the time signature from 3/4 to 4/4 and changed the vibe from a ballad to a future bass production. We’ve also treated it like a melody and drop format just to make it more groovy and catchy!”
Why collaborate with Koustuv (who, by the way, has also co-produced, edited, directed and done the VFX for the video along with singing, re-arranging and remixing the track), though? Her reply? “He’s a super-talented friend of mine!”
“Hope you like it!” she concludes. Let us know what you thought of the video.>
