No more Major Lazer? Come 2019, that may be the case!

Diplo announced in a recent interview that next album will be its last

It was a good run while it lasted. One that produced a flurry of hits for Major Lazer – Diplo, Walshy Fire and Jillionaire. And now, going by a recent interview by Diplo to Complex, their album, due to release next year, may well be its last.

After eleven years as a unit, Major Lazer will put out a collection of tracks to mark a decade’s worth “bunch of stuff you haven’t heard like that we made the last ten years”, revealed Diplo, adding, “Next year marks our last album, so we got a lot of stuff in between now and then.”

But why part ways when the going is so, so good? That’s “because I got [these] other side projects, like LSD (with Sia and Labrinth) and Silk City (with Mark Ronson).”

Well, that’s as good a reason as any.

No more Major Lazer? Come 2019, that may be the case!
