Designed to give you the chills as you wait for this ‘silent thriller’

A horror film that could owe its origins to classics like The Hills Have Eyes and such, #Mercury starring Prabhudeva, is gaining eyeballs — first with its poster, then the teaser and now, the eight-minute video title song, released through Saregama Music.

This will most likely be the only song from the film’s soundtrack that features vocals. Why? Well, they’re marketing the film as one having “no language (read: dialogues)” and therefore, will release in every territory.

Composed and arranged by Mithoon (with an opening that feels inspired by the American Horror Story theme), the song has lyrics by regular collaborator Sayeed QuadriHaricharan and Gajendra Verma have lent their vocals while Yaara and Gods Will have rapped on it.

The ‘musical promo film’ for the ‘silent thriller’ directed by Karthik Subbaraj, features Prabhu Dheva getting jiggy with Krithika Baby after walking into a tavern/bar/restaurant. Krishna M, who writes for and directs the video, doesn’t just give nods to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’ video, but also to ‘Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)’, while sticking to the script… somewhat.

Prabhu Dheva is most definitely the reason you watch through this promo video which otherwise features a newcomer cast. He has released a four-minute version called The Prabhu Deva Cut.
