Laaj Sharam is a visual diary of a bored bride

The track sounds like a bachelorette song but is more about the bleh-ness of wedding prep.

The video for the fourth single of Sonam KapoorKareena Kapoor Khan-starrer Veere Di Wedding, ‘Laaj Sharam’, is out. The visuals have little to do with what the lyrics suggest but this song is the best example of how to be a bored bride and get away with it. Funnily enough, Bebo’s (she plays the title role) friends are more excited about her wedding than she is.

Scored and written by White Noise (Sachin Jigar‘s A&R initiative), it features rapper Enbee and is sung by Divya Kumar and Jasleen Royal. There’s this feel that Kareena’s character might be getting pre-wedding jitters. The funniest moment comes right at the start when Veere pictures her guy in a dress, just because his mom brings up childhood memories. That’s how bored she is.
What stands out is Divya Kumar’s distinct Punjabi twang, and Jasleen’s rather soft vocals. It only serves to underscore the quirkiness of the visuals.

Veere Di Wedding, out June 1, is a story of friendship and everything else that comes with it, all the highs and lows.
