Komorebi (real name: Tarana Marwah) is one of three Indian acts to feature their music at the prestigious SXSW 2019 festival and the only Indian resident of the lot.
The other two are Glasgow-based singer-songwriter Kapil Seshasayee and Chicago-based singer-songwriter Subhi.
Komorebi, over the past year or so, has released her debut album Soliloquy and has been gigging heavily and has been a part of several music festival lineups in India as well as internationally.
Kapil debuted with his EP ‘Crimes’ in 2014, but really made a mark with ‘A Sacred Bore’, which released earlier this year. The concept album spoke about issues in the Indian caste system.
Subhi is a musician who was at SXSW last year. She sings in Hindi and released her debut album Shaitan Dil last year. While in Mumbai during her travels, she worked with Y Films on a few projects, with the dgital platform The Viral Fever and even composed a song for a Nila Madhab Panda film.
