JADEN SMITH: 5 Things You Need To Know About This Vh1 Supersonic 2019 Headliner

Jaden Smith, one of the headliners of this acts in this year’s Supersonic held at Pune, is a talented rapper, singer, songwriter, and an actor. Here are a few things you ought to know about him…

Will Smith’s son, Jaden Smith, has made several appearances in movies from his first cameo appearance in ‘Men in Black II’ (2002) to a full-fledged performance in ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ (2006) and a star debut in The Karate Kid (2010)

As his first act, Smith first rapped alongside Justin Bieber in 2010 for the song ‘Never Say Never’. He released his first mixtape in 2012 called The Cool Café and his debut studio album in 2016 titled ‘Syre’. Icon is his most known song, and it reached No 3 on Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. His most recent release is ‘The Sunset Tapes: A Cool Tape Story’ (2018)

Smith owns a record label and clothing line under the name of MSFTS (pronounced misfits). Jaden Smith challenges the gender norms (he once wore a skirt for a Louis Vuitton campaign) and the clothing line is representative of that in bringing out fashion that is gender neutral.

Known for his cryptic tweets, Jaden Smith’s philosophy is often described as eccentric. He says he believes in a Wakanda-type high tech place, and is a vivid “conspiracy theorist” on topics such as the Illuminati, Chemtrails, etc.

For Met Gala 2017, Jaden Smith cut his dreadlocks and took that as a ‘date’ for the event. To Kanye’s wedding, he wore a white Batman suit. He also opposes formal education and believes that higher learning happens outside of the classroom.

He may be unconventional and difficult to understand at times, but he surely brings out amazing music. And we are eagerly waiting for a slice of it, live at Supersonic 2019 this weekend. Be there be free.
