J Balvin joins Diplo’s Major Lazer to bring the heat with Que Calor!
(L-R) Diplo, J Balvin, El Alfa and Ape Drums

Major Lazer keeps blessing us with new tracks from their announced final album called Music Is The Weapon. The latest track to drop from the outfit’s fourth album is Que Calor featuring J Balvin and El Alfa.

Que Calor is the first track minus Jillionaire and its video also excludes Walshy Fire, leaving only Diplo and Ape Drums (Jillionaire’s replacement) to rep the group along with Balvin and Alfa.

A banger of a track, the single marries influences from the home countries of the collaborators involved, sampling tracks are varied as Toto La Momposina’s Curara and Timbaland and Magoo’s Indian Flute along to Dominican dembow rhythms.

Star video director Colin Tilley (VMA and BET winner) has directed this mad, mad video which is choreographed by VMA winner Calvin Hodge and stars Diplo, Ape Drums, Balvin and Alfa along with two Lazer Gyals, Sara Bivens and Helen Gedlu.

Que Calor follows Make It Hot (ft Anitta), Can’t Take It From Me (ft Skip Marley), Cold Water (ft Justin Bieber and MØ) and Know No Better (ft Travis Scott, Camila Cabello and Quavo.

First announced in 2015, one wonders when MITW will actually release. What one does know for sure is that the Major Lazer character (designed by Ferry Guow) has reappeared in their artwork.

Long Live Lazerism. If you’re into it, that is!
