“I feel really proud to see the booming rap culture in India,” says Naezy

We’ve all known rapper Naved Shaikh aka Naezy to be one of the pioneers in brining the hip hop rap culture in India and also as an inspiration for the Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy.

Naezy, who is part of the panel discussion for the audition episode of MTV Hustle, which is a platform for budding rappers said, “I feel really proud to see the booming rap culture in India. It has been widely loved and appreciated and, needless to say, Gully Boy played an influential role in providing an edge to the rappers in the country.” “I know for a fact that it will be instrumental in further elevating the rap revolution in India” he added.

Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, which proved to be one of the best projects released early this year minted a total of 139.8 crores in the domestic market. The movie was inspired by the lives of Divine and Naezy, who were instrumental in the development of the hip hop and street rap culture in India.
