Have you met these #HeavenlyBodies?

The Met Gala this year had these singers take us to church with their hallelujah-worthy looks

The first Monday of May is the star-studded, well-heeled fundraising Met Gala, the red carpet event everyone waits to go crazy for. The fashion industry has been waiting for this for months and now, and here it is! You can breathe now.
The theme of this year’s Met Gala was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” Here’s who we think took us to church with their looks…

RIHANNA
Queen of the Met Gala, Rihanna went full-on Pope. She wore an attention-stealing pearl-and-crystal-embellished Maison Margiela gown that had an overskirt cutting open to reveal a miniskirt, accessorized with a matching jacket and mitre style hat. She paired her look with a smokey eye by FentyBeauty and bleached eyebrows.
BANDOOK REACTION: We can’t look away!

LANA DEL REY
Lana Del Rey wore Gucci’s Alessandro Michele in a cream-colour dress with gold accents, including a ‘Sacred Heart’ chest-plate. She was here to steal hearts and she made sure of that! With an ombré blue headpiece with wings, no less.
BANDOOK REACTS: Somebody craft a statue for this look.

KATY PERRY
Katy Perry wore a a gold Versace ensemble and a gigantic pair of wings that put Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show wings to shame. The feathery white wings and gold metallic mini dress with sheer long sleeves and matching metallic over-the-knee boots made her look like an angel.
BANDOOK REACTS: Yeah, we’ll forgive those trying-too-hard antics on American Idol.

PRIYANKA CHOPRA
Priyanka Chopra wore a crimson velvet Ralph Lauren strapless gown with an embellished gold chainmail that resembled a medieval knight, going according to the theme. She paired the look with finger waves, her favourite accessory and a deep red lip shade.
BANDOOK REACTS: She’s her own knight in shining armour!

ARIANA GRANDE
It was Ariana Grande‘s first time and she certainly didn’t disappoint. Her Vera Wang dress was symbolic of Michelangelo’s The Last Judgment, a mural painting on the Sistine Chapel‘s altar wall. Inside was a dull gold mesh that flowed back. She wore a bow in her dyed-white hair, which was put in her signature high ponytail.
Ariana opted for simplicity in the jewellery department, popping on a dazzling pair of tiny hoop earrings for the event.

BANDOOK REACTS: A masterpiece, for sure.
