Good Man di Laltein is quirky yet joyful

Soorma’s 3rd track is a refresher
Good Man di Laltein:
There is no particular definition to this Punjabi phrase, but if we had to come up with something in order to explain it, it would be “The ray of light in the darkness.” In context to this song, we would say that this phrase denotes how Sandeep Singh was the ray of hope for this family, for his fans to win the world cup and bring his family a good name. This song does, in fact, bring light to a story kept in the dark for so long.
What we configure from this song is that it is a “Roka” between Sandeep and Preet (Diljit Dosanjh and Tapsee Pannu). With the playful chemistry they share and how Diljit wears his India blazer with pride, we can safely assume that this was the time before he actually got shot.
There are quirky music and joyful lyrics, which bring a stark contrast to the rest of the film and acts as a refresher for us, and them as well. And with the way Sukhwinder Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan sing it, there can’t really be a better combination for a song like this. Except, of course, the music is given by Shankar Ehsaan Loy and lyrics by the one and only, Gulzar. It’s actually perfect.
After hit songs like Soorma: Anthem and Ishq Di Baajiyaan, this is the third track of the film. Watch it here:
