On Tera Fitoor being the second most Googled Bollywood song this year
The film may have not set the box-office on fire but the Utkarsh Sharma-starring Genius definitely got noticed for its music (Arijit Singh’s Tera Fitoor track in particular) and the lead pair’s chemistry.
Says Utkarsh when told about the song being the third-most searched India-wide, “The song has got an unbelievable response. I am so thankful that Himesh ji and Arijit came together and created this wonderful song.”
Sharing details on the genesis of the song, he says, “I still remember when Himeshji called us to his studio to select songs for Genius from his collection. Upon hearing Tera Fitoor, I was estatic and requested that we get this song anyhow into the film as this was one of the most beautiful melodies that I had heard in recent times. The lyrics by Kumaar also touched my heart. Tips also gave the song a good platform and made it possible to reach so many viewers.”
Recounting an incident during shooting, he adds, “In fact, the song had become quite the rage when we were shooting it in IIT Roorkee. All the students hummed it as we were shooting. They would tell me that the song has become their favorite even though back then the song was partially arranged in terms of music. Someone even recorded a part of this un-arranged version on shoot and put it up on YouTube as Arijit’s new single and it become a rage as our entire crew’s social media timelines were filled with questions of when the song would release.”
Did they have any idea how massive the song would become? He replies, “Of course we knew were onto something big. As a newcomer, having not one but two songs cross 200+million views and Tera Fitoor becoming the second most searched on Google in 2018 is something I could have only dreamed of. I am glad that the audience loves the song as much as I do and I thank them for all the love that they gave to the song and the film.”>
