Even a 7.1 magnitude earthquake couldn’t shake the spirit of Shawn Mendes fans!

There’s absolutely nothing that can shake Shawn Mendes’s fans when he is performing live for them. By nothing we mean a 7.1 magnitude earthquake! As the Senorita heatthrob sang the first of three songs an earthquake shook the Downtown Los Angeles’ Staples Center.

Shawn Mendes is currently on a world tour which clocks 105 dates, he was just a few minutes away from getting on stage to woo his adorable fans right after the opening set by Alessia Cara, there was a panic across venue as the rows of ceiling-mounted sound equipment swayed dangerously from cables and two of Mendes’ oversized set pieces rattled in place thanks to the quake.

While everyone thought that this chaos was due to the quake, it was actually the fans who were trying to get back in position for the singer. After the brief chaotic episode and 30 minutes of equipment checks, the house lights dimmed and those swaying installations — one a giant LED sculpture of a rose were in place, Shawn started his much awaited performance. Opening with his romantic jam “Lost in Japan,” followed in quick succession by more of his signatures like “Stitches” and “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back.”

While the earthquake could not disturb a note of Mende’s performance. He managed not change clothes once during the nearly two-hour performance but swapped out guitars with nearly every song. Lastly, he ensured that he fixed every single broken heart in the crowd with his take on the Coldplay heartbreaker hit “Fix You”
