Everyone at Dublin’s Malahide Castle witnessing the dreamy performance of Lana Del Rey didn’t know that they’d be in for a much bigger treat than her performance.
On Saturday (June 22), Lana Del Rey treated a Dublin crowd to the first-ever live performance of her cover of Sublime’s ‘Doin’ Time’. Just under 20,000 fans attended the concert, the fans went on cheering and screaming as she hit the falsetto towards the end of the song. Del Rey’s cover of the Sublime cut, released in May, will appear in a new documentary about the California punk band.
To top this impromptu performance, she announced that her most awaited album Norman Fucking Rockwell arrives in August, it will mark nearly a year since Lana dropped its first single, “Mariners Apartment Complex,” back in September. Lana delivered the news telling the crowd, “I hope you like the new record, it’s coming out in two months.”
While we know that with Lana Del Rey “Heaven is a place on earth” for real and we CANNOT wait for her new album. In the meanwhile all that we can do is sit back and enjoy the snippets she’s teased from a number of her unreleased songs.>
