Diljit Dosanjh FINALLY gets his wax statue at Madame Tussauds
By Bryan Durham - March 28, 2019
Diljit Dosanjh has become the first Punjabi musician (and turbaned Sikh) to get his own statue at the wax museum in Delhi. After announcing the news in July last year, he was scheduled to launch the statue on February 28. That date got delayed and the launch just went underway.
The rescheduling happened thanks to the rising tension between India and Pakistan following the Pulwama attack.
At the launch an overwhelmed Diljit said at the event, “I first saw Madame Tussauds from outside on a trip to London when I was young. Never thought I would have my own wax figure at Madame Tussauds one day!”
He joins the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonu Nigam, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, David Beckham, Virat Kohli and Michael Jackson, among others at the museum.
Here are images he put up from the launch, dressed in a black tuxedo.>
