Did Akshay Kumar’s Ali Ali video just ape Kendrick Lamar’s All The Stars and Humble?
Akshay Kumar and Karan Kapadia in Blank‘s Ali Ali

We last told you about how Akshay Kumar shot a promotional video for the upcoming film of a debutant and why he did so. That single and its video, Ali Ali is now out.

Picturised on Akshay Kumar and newbie Karan Kapadia, the song sees both the actors dancing and grooving to the contemporary fusion number, composed and penned by Arko, sung by B Praak and choreographed by Ranju Varghese.

The single itself is beautiful, with B Praak’s booming vocals taking Arko’s words and tunes to different heights. One thing becomes very apparent when you watch the video, though, and it’s this: it’s not an original.

While it is a worthy imitation and mashup of two Dave Meyers videos (Kendrick Lamar’s All The Stars ft SZA and Humble), the fact remains that it is an uncredited copy of the two videos.

We’d have to be living under a rock if we didn’t spot all the similarities in both videos. How many did you find?

The film releases December 3.
