D-Soldierz’s new video features a beauty queen

By Bryan Durham - February 15, 2019

You know them best from ABCD2’s Happy Birthday, but we’ve been following Punjabi hiphop duo Xash and Lion (formerly MagikEleven and O Pozitive) aka D Soldierz’s work long before that. The video for their latest song Call stars Femina Miss India Grand 2018 Gayatri Bhardwaj.

The two brothers are best known for Bollywood singles Happy Birthday (ABCD2), Little Little (Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se) and from their non-film singles over the years, Wishes and all the songs from their album Re-Evolution.

Call is an upbeat, peppy number composed, penned and sung by the duo and the music video, released via Times Music’s YouTube channel has been shot in one take.

When asked about the song, the duo chimes in, “The beats are fresh, and the vibe is pure chill and we’re sure it will entice our audience to the fullest. We believe this song will break new ground in the Indian Music Industry, especially amongst the youth.”

“We also had an amazing experience shooting the video for Call. Since it was shot in one single go, we had to plan every little detail beforehand, which was challenging, yet fun. Our hopes are high, and fingers crossed. Being a one-take video, this is the “first of its kind” Punjabi music video and we’re positive that this song will be a real game changer.” they continued.

Gayatri had this to say about her experience, “After winning the Femina Miss India 2018 title, this is my first music project. ‘Call’ is an amazing song and has a great party vibe around it. I thoroughly enjoyed shooting the song alongside Apurva and Anupam. Also, the song’s ‘one take video shoot’ idea was very interesting. I hope everyone loves the song and the video,” said Gayatri.
