SONG: COLORS
ARTIST: Jason Derulo

Coca-Cola ‘anthem’ commissioned ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2018 (July doesn’t seem too long away, does it?), it sees Jason Derulo sing and write the track.
“Through my years of travel, I’ve been able to see the beauty in our cultural differences and I wrote ‘Colors’ to celebrate that diversity and be a part of the amazing energy that sports fans around the world give to their teams,” said Jason of writing the song in an earlier released press statement.
The track is an uplifting one, a prerequisite of such songs. Featuring keywords like ‘raise your flag’, ‘represent your country’, ‘hands up for your colours’, ‘beauty in our unity’, it doesn’t such embrace differences, but also celebrates the unity that the global sporting event brings.
Will it have the lasting appeal of a Wave Your Flag (K’Naan) or a Waka Waka (Shakira ft Wyclef Jean)? Well, unlike the other two tracks which hit their goal in the opening minutes of the game, we feel this one will hit it home just ahead of half-time.
It’s a grower. The more you listen to it, the more you’ll get used to it.
