Christina Aguilera on leaving The Voice: I was unhappy

In a recent interview with Galore magazine, she said, “[I’m] getting my feet wet, coming off of this sterile TV mode that I was a part of. [I was] so unhappy there [and I’m looking forward to] getting back to my roots at what I do my best; my artistry, doing what I love to do, creating, and having a purpose and meaning….”

The 38-year-old singer, who launches her Las Vegas residency this week, is featured in Galore‘s summer Icon Issue.

Christina was a coach on six seasons of The Voice, leaving the show after season 10 in 2016.

She told People: ‘I had given myself fully to television and being a part of a network that really wasn’t quite the fit for me after the amount of time I put in.’

She’s happy to be back on stage and performing, as the singer says she’s in ‘fun mode’.
