‘Brahmastra’ will be Pritam and Amitabh Bhattacharya’s first soundtrack with Amitabh Bachchan, fourth with Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt-Amitabh Bachchan starrer Brahmastra looks all set for a release later this year. And we now know a bit about the film’s music.

While music director Pritam Chakraborty was spotted on the sets of the film earlier this year, we can now reveal that the lyricist will be Amitabh Bhattacharya.

Brahmastra marks a first for Pritam, Bhattacharya and lead pair Ranbir and Alia as well. It marks the first time Amitabh Bachchan works with all of them.

This is also the first time Pritam is working on a super hero flick. But what is keeping him more interested is Big B’s presence in the film. “He has never given music for an Amitabh Bachchan film and is honoured to finally get a chance to work with the legend. He is also keen to explore an opportunity of getting Bachchan Saab to sing,” a source said in reports during the shoot of the film in Mumbai.

At the time, sources suggested that Bachchan’s song would be used in the promotional material of the film as it usually happens.

Every time Pritam and Amitabh Bhattacharya have come together (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Jagga Jasoos and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani being prime examples) for a Ranbir Kapoor film, the soundtrack has become a bonafide hit.

The same is expected from this Ayan Mukherjee helmed project.
