BLACKPINK, not BTS, top Forbes Top 40 Power Celebrities 2019 List

Forbes Korea has announced the Top 40 Power Celebrities of 2019 and no surprise, all the names in the top 5 are idols. Overall, BLACKPINK outranked the likes of BTS, Wanna One, Kang Daniel and Red Velvet (in that order).

The magazine tracked search rankings on Kakao between March 2018 and February 2019. Around 150 were shortlisted. Those involved in controversies were excluded and the top 40 were picked and scored on media exposure, activities on broadcast, profit earnings and SNS (social media).

Interestingly BLACKPINK scored the highest on social media (YouTube, V Live, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook), beating out BTS, while BTS scored the most on media exposure and profit earnings.
