Bhula Dunga zooms past ‘bad guy’ in record time
By Bryan Durham - April 10, 2020
Darshan Raval’s Bhula Dunga, starring Bigg Boss 13 alumni Sidharth Shukla and Shehnaaz Gill (shipped by their fandoms as SidNaaz), continues its unbeaten run as the most commented Indian music video on YouTube, 17 days after it released and two weeks since it broke Yo Yo Honey Singh and Neha Kakkar’s Makhna‘s record.
Bhula Dunga broke that record in a blindingly fast three days. It now stands at 620,126 comments, towering over the likes of the videos of J-Hope (Chicken Noodle Soup), Billie Eilish (bad guy), Ariana Grande (7 rings), Maroon 5 (Girls Like You), Drake (God’s Plan), Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello (Señorita), Taylor Swift (Shake It Off), DJ Snake (Taki Taki), Katy Perry (Firework), Cardi B (Bodak Yellow), Ed Sheeran (Perfect) and Adele (Rolling In The Deep).
The video, which stands at 50 million-plus views currently and over 2.4 million likes, is all set to topple a few more records.
Surprisingly, though, music data aggregator kworb.net has not updated their ‘most commented‘ list (which is surprising because they’ve updated all their other lists on a daily basis). They didn’t do it when Bhula Dunga broke Makhna‘s record. They haven’t done it now, when it should be #62 on that list at current count (for reference, Makhna is at #187 on that same Top 200 list.
