Bet you didn’t know these 5 things about Romy!

Romy is a singer who is behind some of Bollywood’s latest and biggest, most memorable hits. The voice of songs as diverse as Pyaar Tenu Karde Gabru (Shubh Mangal Zyaada Savdhaan), Zumba (Good Newwz), Challa (Uri: Surgical Strike), Sanu Kehndi (Kesari), Halla (Manmarziyaan), Sahiba (Phillauri) is something of a rarity. An unconventional voice for sure, he is known by the songs he’s sung for a multitude of films and composers, but did you know what he looks like or what his personality is like?
Here’s a ready reckoner in five points…
FOOD COMES FIRST
This is one thing we could totally bond over. He’s quite frank about the fact that he’s a foodie. “I’m a very good chef as well”, he shares, “I like to eat, cook and serve people.”
YEH BHI, WOH BHI
Romy, it turns out, is quite the multi-tasker. He shares, “I don’t just sing, I produce and do sound engineering as well.”
ON A DIFFERENT CREASE?
If not singer and musician, what would Romy be? Pat comes the answer. “I would have very much liked to become a cricketer.” Why? “I used to play cricket actively till the age of fifteen. It was a childhood dream of mine to be a cricketer!”
YE NAHI… TO KYA SAHI?
Self-admittedly, he’s busy travelling, performing and recording. If he wasn’t doing all that, how would he spend his time? “I would have been at home watching movies. I usually watch one or two movies a day. So I am kind of a movie buff,” he says.
PLAYING IT RIGHT
FUN FACT: Romy is a multi-instrumentalist. “I can play more than 15 stroke instruments apart from the guitar,” he concludes.
