Armaan Malik Delivers A Double Hat-Trick Of Telugu Hits With Mr Majnu’s ‘Yemainado’
By Bandook - December 19, 2018
We’re a bit late to the party, but nevertheless we were excited to check out the latest collaboration of composer Thaman S and singer Armaan Malik.
This year, Hyderabadis and Telugu music listeners had not even gotten over the magic of Armaan’s Padi Padi Leche Manasu and Anaganaga yet and his latest, Yemainado from the film Mr. Majnu, starring Akhil Akkineni and Nidhhi Agerwal, which released last Friday via Sony Music South, is already winning hearts.
One-sided love is again at the fore, lyrically. Lyricist Sri Mani pens down the feelings of someone in one-sided love.
The feeling of being lost comes through with lines (translated here) like ’What has happened to my lips that spoke so often?’ or ‘What has happened to my heart which once stored all my feelings?’
Confused, confounded, he trudges on, has no idea where he’s going. The hero’s (Akhil’s) love interest (played by Nidhhi) and he stand at different ends, with him going one way and his heart going the other. His dilemma is: he can’t share this with anyone!
It’s something Armaan’s getting increasingly good at, as a playback singer. You feel that his voice perfectly matches Akhil’s facial expressions.
The music arrangement stands out yet again with use of live instruments recorded at YRF Studios Mumbai and VGP Studios in Chennai.
The string section you hear throughout beautifully complements Armaan’s lilting vocals.
This isn’t any plain melody, though. It’s an experience to be had. Over and over again.
