‘It was way too much too soon’, says a source

Singer Ariana Grande and Saturday Night Live (SNL) comedian Pete Davidson began dating in May “casually”. A few weeks later, in June, they announced that they were engaged. Now, four months later, they have called off the engagement

At the time of getting togehther. oth had just gotten out of long-term relationships. Ariana had been dating rapper Mac Miller for two years at the time. Pete had broken up with girlfriend Cazzie David weeks before beginning to date Ariana.

They made people take notice with online PDA and even making their red carpet debut. By September, the news of Mac’s death hit everyone hard and the couple sat out the 2018 Emmys to “take time to heal”.

A number of tattoos and their online PDA marked most of their relationship. Post engagement, the two moved in to a $16million NYC apartment that she bought. And even adopted a piglet called Piggy Smalls, who Pete even got a tattoo of.

Pete would joke about how unreal the relationship was. Two months after proposing to Ariana he told Variety, “I’m still convinced she’s blind or hit her head really hard. Something is going to happen, and she’s going to be like, ‘What the f–k is this thing doing around?’ For right now, it’s rocking.”

“It was way too much too soon,” a Grande source told People of the singer and Davidson’s split on Sunday. “It’s not shocking to anyone.”

Also, the split comes a month after Mac’s death.
