An Ode To A Bold 90s South Star, Will Shakeela Have Re-Created Music?

Vidya Balan showed off her bold side playing Silk Smitha in The Dirty Picture and now, it’s Richa Chadha’s turn to essay the life of another famous name of the 90s with Shakeela.

The first poster of the biopic directed by Indrajit Lankesh, had her wearing just gold jewellery, but the second poster is more an ode to the 90s than anything else.

If you grew up in the 90s, you’d be familiar with the quirky painted artwork on posters. The latest one features Richa in a glass of liquor, romancing the camera with the caption: Iss saal ka jaam, Shakeela ke naam.

An Ode To A Bold 90s South Star, Will Shakeela Have Re-Created Music?

As intriguing as the poster is, it raises a pertinent question. Will the makers of the film resort to re-created music of the era or come up with new singles to reflect the vibe of the era. There’s a new name in the credits alongside hitmakers The Meet Bros.

Let’s wait and watch…
