Akhil Sachdeva: ‘I will sing Tera Ban Jaunga for Alia Bhatt, sabse pehle!’

Akhil Sachdeva’s latest outing Tera Ban Jaunga features on the Kabir Singh soundtrack. The singer, who was last heard on singles like Gal Sun, Nain Na Jodeen and Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya’s Humsafar, has what sounds like another winner on his hands. Here are excerpts of bandook’s conversation with him…

With such good looks, did anyone ever suggest that you turn to acting rather than singing?

God has blessed me with a unique voice which has more soul than most of the souls around so that’s more beautiful for me than my looks. People do tell me that I should also try my hand at acting, but let’s see… when it has to happen, it will happen.

If you had to re-create three iconic songs, which ones would you choose?

Tere Bina Zindagi Se Koi Shikwa, Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein Khayal Aata Hai and Humein Tumse Pyaar Kitna.

Apart from you, who do you think could have sung Tera Ban Jaunga?

Since I compose music, I feel there are songs which only rare voices can deliver to its capability. I always felt that I could express Tera Ban Jaunga uniquely in my own way. Otherwise, I feel Arijit Singh or Vishal Mishra could sing it with loads of feeling.

Have you ever had a passionate love story like Kabir Singh?

I am a super passionate person in life so my life story and how I have dealt with them till date is no less than Kabir Singh‘s.

Share something with us on your upcoming projects, how much more of Akhil Sachdeva are we going to hear?

I do my work and the rest depends on time, luck and God. But yeah, I have sung for two-three films this year and a ‘festival’ film too, for songs not in my usual genres. I’m also working on new singles in both Punjabi and Hindi, which should release soon.

Your stage name is Nasha, what are the three things that give you nasha?

Firstly, the love people shower on me when I’m on stage off it, the way God has blessed me with this voice and the ability to make music like this and touch souls, gives me immense nasha.

If you were to sing Tera Ban Jaunga for a celebrity crush, who would it be for?

I sang Humsafar for Alia and even this one I will sing for her sabse pehle.
