Akasa’s how-to manual to deal with ‘Thug Ranjhas

It’s here and so classy and on-point!

The audio for pop sensation AKASA’s debut single ‘Thug Ranjha’ dropped yesterday across streaming platforms and this Friday afternoon, the music video.

If you haven’t seen it yet, we suggest you do. Apart from it being a fiery tell-off to people who play with people’s hearts, the video features a glowing Akasa start off hanging out with her girl gang as she dances off the blues of what appears to be a breakup (or one waiting to happen?).

She’s clearly moved on as the visuals show. She’s so on fire, the boy who’s her (soon-to-be) ex, played by model Shashvat Seth, sees her across a fair-ground having a good time and comes over to shake a leg with her, behaving as if he’d done nothing wrong.

After she brushes him off (getting that whole ‘if you didn’t love me at my/you don’t deserve me at my’ vibes here) and leaves him sitting sulking in a corner, she reminisces the good ol’ days and for old times sake, does a jig with him, purporting to lean in for a kiss and then walks away.

What follows, is her meeting a new dude (and a potential future Thug Ranjha) played by Paresh Pahuja, who made his acting debut with Tiger Zinda Hai.

We love the song for its anthemic vibe, relatable Punjabi lyrics (hats off, Vayu!) and fire you don’t usually see in the aftermath of a break-up.

Girls, take note. This is how it’s done!
